New version of ePIC went live on 11 June – expand to see the main changes
11/06/2024
1) CN codes for mixtures and articles
A CN code must be provided for each Annex I chemical present in the mixture/article. Earlier, only the CN code for the mixture was required.
Industry users should ensure that their mixture/article master data is updated with appropriate CN codes prior to creation of new notifications and re-submitting/duplicating their existing notifications. In manage the mixtures/articles functionality,
- the CN code for the Annex I entry is automatically populated in the “chemicals” tab, if a CN code is available in ePIC database. However, the exporter should verify that the code is up to date. If no CN code is available in the chemicals database, the code must be filled in manually;
- the CN code for the mixture itself must be provided manually in the “summary” tab, as before.
CN codes are now also required for standard special RIN requests for chemicals, mixtures and articles.
The Customs interface displays all CN codes provided by the exporter in export notifications and standard special RIN requests.
Section 1.3.4 “CN code” of the export notification PDF form sent to the importing country is filled in by the CN code(s) of the Annex I chemical(s) provided by the exporter.
2) Re-submission of export notifications
Re-submissions close to the export date specified in the initial submissions are blocked; the expected date of export must be at least 20 days after the resubmission date.
